Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what information Nomad collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Nomad is operated by [LLC NAME PENDING] ("Nomad", "we", "us").

What we collect

  • Account details: your username and email address.
  • Study progress: the decks and cards you create, your review history, and lesson progress, so spaced repetition can schedule your reviews.
  • Content you add: words, phrases and files you upload (for example a PDF from your tutor) so we can turn them into flashcards.
  • Beta requests: if you request an invite, your first name, email, optional Instagram handle and the language you're learning.
  • Payment information: when paid plans open, payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number.
  • Basic technical data: things like browser type and error logs that help us keep the app working.

How we use it

  • To run your account and keep your progress in sync.
  • To generate translations and flashcards, including with AI services (see below).
  • To send account emails, such as password resets and beta invites.
  • To improve Nomad and fix problems.

We don't sell your personal information.

AI-generated translations

Some features send the text you enter, or text from files you upload, to third-party AI providers to produce translations and flashcards. We send only what's needed for that request. AI output can be wrong, so double-check anything important.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run Nomad, such as hosting, email delivery, AI translation and payment processing (Stripe). They may only use your information to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, unless we need to keep some of it for legal or billing reasons.

Your choices

  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
  • You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails. We'll still send essential account emails like password resets.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under local privacy laws. Contact us and we'll help.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children

Nomad isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and let you know about significant changes.
